I have posted the following on my face book page our Decani Fund blog and in offering humble thanks to the benefactors of our DMRF and thought to share it with you!
Humble thanks to the loving benefactors of the Decani Monastery Relief Fund From the president Very Reverend Nektarios Serfes, and the Board of Directors
Glory to God and thanks to the kind loving benefactors of the Decani Fund, we have since October 1998 have raised one million dollars for the Serbs in Kosovo/Metohija. I as the president of our fund have been to the region fourteen times, and I get up-to-date reports as to where your donations are provide from the treasurer ...of the Decani Monastery.
The only true expense we have is the $50.00 transfer from our bank to the bank in Kosovo.
Secondly this past year 1919 was as great blessing for our fund as we raised $58,450.57.
Earlier this week our fund was able to send over $8,450.57 to help the Serbs obtain fire wood for the winter, and to help families get a pig for the feast day of the Nativity of our Lord -celebrated on January 7th. So many Serbs are Rejoicing in the Lord for the loving care from the benefactors.
Without you many families would freeze! Without you many families would not have a decent meal many families only eat one meal a day). Without you many families would not be able to celebrate the feast of our Lord's Nativity and receive a pig that would last whole week. Without you we would not be able to support the seven soup Kitchens throughout the region. Without you we would not be able to offer school supplies, and help them with daily lunch, as well as heating of the schools. Without you we would not be able to help displaced Serbs, and help them with repairs for their homes. Without you we would not be able to provide families with ovens, wood stoves, and refrigerators. Without you we would not be able to replace the stolen cows, and tractors. Without you the Serbian Orthodox Monasteries would not be able to pay for their electric bills, and receive food, and fire wood assistance. Without you many the destroyed churches and monasteries would not be repaired -ten churches and monasteries have been repaired since 1998-2019. Without you many children would not receive medical assistance for the elderly and mentally ill. Without your loving prayers for our fund would suffer and so we offer to you dear loving benefactors our humble thanks as you have brought comfort and love.
We humbly thank you and we assure you of our Christ-loving prayers for ever and ever. Amen.
